Emma's Summer Escapades!

My summer started off a bit slow with Extended Essay camp, but quickly sped up as I went and visited my grandparents in new jersey for a week and spent 2 days in New York City with my brother. Then I home for a very quick week before i headed to Panama for a month! ... The most amazing experience of my life! However, I was only sporting a less than awful underwater point and shoot as my means of photography. The views were incredible, and the people even better to photograph, however my camera didn't do the job. So here are a few of the somewhat decent memories i managed to capture this summer:

Cutest Gnobe Bugle girls ever!

Meeena

So, instead of going on exotic adventures like most others did, I stayed home for the summer of 2011 (aside from going a few road trips here and there to visit colleges and such). This summer I worked, volunteered and starting preparing myself for the ACT...not so fun. BUT, I did practice with some film using a lomo camera (holga 135) and it took a LOT of work to get used to since it's really not the camera but how you use it-angle, focus, brightness and all that shazam

CALIFORNIA DREAMIN'

Here's a lil' summer post on my travels to California with the fam earlier this summer. No road trip this year, but we fit in plenty of driving between Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, and our little stop in Three Rivers. Here are a few photos on what we saw along the way.

"The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources." Albert Einstein

In attempts to get creative with resources, today was day one with CD case shooting. Inspiration? Jerry Uelsmann's black and white prints. My version of his double exposure and non digital editing? Clear CD case covers.

Summer Travels

I just thought I'd share a few photos from this summer. Over a period of several weeks, I drove west with my family and visited a number of national and state parks. I'm also slowly adding photos from the trip to my Flickr.

Breaking the Ice

Since the attempts to further our school's photography club are still fresh, here is my first post to showcase some photos. Very recently, as in yesterday, I arrived home from a month of traveling in Europe. It was like my own Eat Pray Love novel only I made my way to first Italy, then France and finally Ukraine. It's very clear that I need not mention the number of photo opportunities in Europe, or anywhere other than home for that matter. Not only did I have the most life changing four week vacation, but here are some of my most memorable photos from the trip.

Views from Geneva and Italy where I got the chance to take tango classes

Living creatures of France

Guess...

Another little creature that was found in the pottery shop I had the honor of working at.

What did everyone else do this summer?! Let me know
